Janez Temlin is the founder and editor-in-chief of News of Ljubljana (Ljubljanske novice). The newspaper was registered by the Bureau of the Republic of Slovenia for Information on October 20, 1995. It was the first Slovenian online newspaper and one of the first independent online newspapers in Europe.
Janez is an avid promoter of Slovenian culture and also promotes projects from abroad by helping artists find project partners and sponsors.
Since 2007, the promotion of culture as an essential element of the EU’s international relations has been one of the three main objectives of the European Agenda for Culture. This commitment has been renewed under the New European Agenda for Culture 2018.
The central role that culture played in Slovenia’s history created an atmosphere where artists had more “space” to develop their own projects and organise themselves in independent associations. Therefore, there are many potential partners for artists from abroad to be found in Slovenia, and Slovenia presents itself as a country of culture that finds space and understanding for a diverse spectrum of artists.
Janez will hold a live meeting for all those interested in Slovenian culture and the opportunities Slovenia offers them to realize their own projects with sponsors and partners waiting for them in this small country in the middle of Europe.
